The Knysna Heads were in past renowned as one of the most dangerous harbour entrances in the world. When the wind rose and the waves grew higher there was not a captain who would risk his ship or his crew by braving the Heads, no matter how attractive the still water anchorage of the lagoon. Today the Heads are famous for another reason, they form the backdrop to one of South Africa’s most scenic towns. Knysna has it all, top class accommodation, unique scenery and a small town ambiance combined with everything required to make a family holiday an experience of a lifetime.
