Knysna has a reputation for lifting the worries of the world from every visitors shoulders. The first sight of the Knysna Heads framing the entrance to the lagoon or the first sip of the local brew, Mitchell’s is enough to make even the most jaded traveler smile. And if you’re visiting Knysna for any length of time then this smile is going to become a permanent fixture. There’s something about the laid back locals, the fine dining and the heady mixture of salt air and forest breezes that simply brings out the best in people. Don’t take my word for it, go down to the quay and order a dozen oysters, accompanied by something bubbly and feel the unique warmth that comes from being in a good place, surrounded by good people.

If it’s a classic Kysna experience you’re after then take a stroll down the quay and order a stout and a plateful of Knsyna oysters, free from the sea. Take your seat at an outside table and enjoy the fantastic view of the Knysna Heads. Let the worries of the world fall away and take advantage of the opportunity to relax.
